Jamie Foxx is opening up about recent life experiences as he promotes his new Netflix comedy special, ‘What Had Happened Was…’.
“I cannot say it enough that I am blessed to be able to tell my story in my own way. So many people to thank, so many people have prayed,” the 56-year-old actor wrote on Instagram Sunday.

Foxx, originally from Terrell, Texas, expressed gratitude to fans in Atlanta, where he recently returned to stand-up comedy after an 18-year break.
“A big shout-out to Atlanta. You showed up and showed out, made me feel at home, made me feel safe after 18 years of not being on stage. You made it feel like it was just yesterday… can’t wait for everyone to experience the vibe that we had,” the Oscar winner said.

Reflecting on the experience of filming the special, Foxx shared, “It was like going to church… we laughed… we had a few tears… but last, but not least, we celebrated life… and second chances… cannot wait.”
The special also touches on rumors surrounding Foxx’s health crisis last year, including speculation linking it to music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, according to three attendees of the October 3-5 tapings at the Alliance Theatre’s Coca-Cola Stage.
