Carmen Bryan, had a romantic relationship with Jay-Z that allegedly resulted in pregnancy, has come forward following r*pe allegations against the hip-hop mogul
The father of three, wed to Beyoncé, is facing severe accusations in a civil lawsuit claiming he r*ped a 13 year old post-2000 MTV Music Video Awards.
The 55 year old Jay-Z has firmly rejected these claims. A lawsuit initially aimed at his associate P Diddy in October was amended on Sunday, naming Jay-Z, real name Shawn Corey Carter, as a defendant concerning the purported event.
The Roc Nation kingpin responded vigorously to the r*pe allegations on social media, dismissing them as ‘so heinous in nature’ and heavily criticizing Texas attorney Tony Buzbee, representing many alleged Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs victims. In his public statement, Jay-Z also expressed concern about the “unfair” repercussions the lawsuit could have on his family.
Jay-Z’s involvement with singer Carmen Bryan spanned from 1995 to 2000, climaxing with her pregnancy at 26, although she tragically endured a miscarriage.
During their affair, Carmen was also seeing Nas, a competitor of Jay-Z, and together she and Nas have a daughter.
After the lawsuit news broke, Carmen voiced her thoughts in an update shared on social media, reports the Mirror.
Carmen Bryan, Nas’ ex-partner, sparked some serious controversy when she revealed on Instagram a snapshot of Jay-Z’s controversial lyrics from the track “Monster,” which featured in Kanye West’s song, drawing attention to the lines: “Kill a block, I murder the avenues, I rape and pillage your village, women and children.”
Not one to shy away, she took another swipe on her Instagram Stories, writing: “These days people don’t defend what is right, they defend who they like! – And that’s why we call you ‘groupie’.”
The drama didn’t end there; Carmen has previously confirmed her relationship with Jay-Z. After the release of Memphis Bleek and Jay-Z’s track “Is That Your Chick,” which prompted a call from Nas questioning if the song referenced her, she confessed in her autobiography, stating: “Nas, it’s true…The rumours are true. I have been seeing Jay-Z.”
She elaborated on their secret five-year affair to VLAD TV in 2017, including sharing a heartbreaking revelation about falling pregnant and then suffering a miscarriage.
“I believe I was three months, it was the first trimester. It wasn’t anything crazy, it wasn’t planned. It wasn’t like ‘Oh we are going to have this baby’,” she reflected. Carmen also disclosed that she only informed Jay-Z about the pregnancy post-miscarriage.
Jay-Z has never spoken out about Carmen’s pregnancy allegations but did rap about having s3x with her on song, Supa Ugly.
The music icon addressed how the accusations unfairly impact his family: “My only heartbreak is for my family,” he continued.
“My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people.”
In a bold legal play, documents submitted by Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, demand that the woman accusing the megastar of r*pe come forward publically. This Monday morning filing insists on fairness: “Fair is fair. It is not consistent with justice, fairness, or the rules governing federal proceedings for the Plaintiff and her counsel to smear [Jay-Z]’s good name.”
These same documents, reviewed by the Mirror, further elaborate on Jay-Z’s “impeccable reputation” which has remained untainted by any allegations or instances of s3xual misconduct.
