Nollywood actress Jemima Osunde has raised concerns about the growing presence of fake and adulterated products, questioning how consumers are expected to completely protect themselves from them.
She listed several everyday products that she believes could be difficult for consumers to identify as genuine, including food, drinks, medication and personal-care products.
On social media handle, she wrote:
“Green apple painted red.
Dye in palm oil.
Fake soy sauce and olive oil.
Chicken that’s pretty much water and toxins.
Fake soda.
Fake paracetamol.
Fake yoghurt.
Fake toothpaste. Fake fake fake!.”
She then asked a simple question about how ordinary people are supposed to navigate such a situation.
“How is someone supposed to 100% avoid consuming these things?”, she asked.
