Nollywood star Jim Iyke caused a stir on social media with a bold, naughty and deeply personal birthday message to fellow actress Kate Henshaw, marking her 54th birthday with raw honesty, humor and admiration
In the now-viral post shared on Instagram, Iyke began with the provocative phrase, “F**k you, Kate,”—a deliberate shock opener that he quickly turned into an unconventional tribute filled with nostalgia and emotion.
He recounted their early years in Nollywood, revealing that at 23, he was enamored with Kate, but she treated him like a younger brother despite knowing how he truly felt. According to him, she supported him in countless ways—tipping him off about auditions, offering him money for meals and transportation, and looking out for him like family.
“Every time I stared into those dancing, beautiful eyes of yours, you knew I had imaginations that were far from friendly,” he wrote. “Our love child would have been in his/her mid-twenties now if you had let me experiment with my seed just a couple of times.”
Iyke also reflected on how fame and immaturity made him reckless when they eventually got involved, admitting he was “crazy and dumb” at the time. He said Kate pulled away, married someone else, and built a beautiful family—something he says he respected and felt proud of, even though he was hurt.
The actor then shifted to praise, blaming Kate—tongue-in-cheek—for setting unrealistic beauty standards. He described her as a timeless figure who has unknowingly driven younger women to extreme lengths trying to imitate her ageless physique and natural charm.
“You’ve caused hysteria, depression, anxiety, admiration, love, hate; a spectrum of human sentiments,” he wrote. “Nature, commitment, and sacrifice created it. It can’t be manufactured. It’s a Kate Henshaw world.”
He ended the explosive message on a warm note:
