Jimoh Ibrahim, the ambassador-designate of Nigeria to the United Nations, has praised President Bola Tinubu over his recent visit to the United Kingdom

In a statement issued in Abuja, the Ondo South senator said the trip came at a period of shifting global alliances, adding that Nigeria must remain active in international engagements.

He said Tinubu’s meeting with Charles III reflected the longstanding relationship between Nigeria and the UK.

According to him, the visit would strengthen cooperation in areas such as trade, investment and security.

“President Tinubu has demonstrated that Nigeria can engage effectively across geopolitical divides, leveraging historical alliances while advancing modern national priorities.

“His actions are precise, timely, and strategically sound. Without doubt, history will be kind to him,” Ibrahim said.

He added that Nigeria’s diplomatic efforts align with the objectives of the United Nations in promoting peace, cooperation and sustainable development.

Ibrahim said stronger engagement with key partners such as the United Kingdom reinforces Nigeria’s role as a stabilising force in Africa and a credible voice in the international system.
