Former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, has explained his reasons for quitting both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The former Rivers State governor spoke on Friday during an interview on Channels Television, where he addressed his political journey and party switches.
Amaechi, now a prominent presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), claimed he was forced out of the PDP by former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan.
He also said his exit from the APC followed a similar pattern after he contested the party’s presidential primary against President Bola Tinubu.
According to him, internal party control and power struggles played a major role in his decisions to leave both parties.
“I was chased out of the PDP and APC by the then presidents,” he said.
“The president and his wife took over the party structure in Rivers State and chased me out. The same thing happened in the APC.”
