Manchester City and Atletico Madrid have agreed on a landmark transfer deal for Julian Alvarez, worth up to £82m (€95m)

The Spanish club will pay an initial £64m (€75m) with additional fees in add-ons, making it a record sale for Manchester City.
Alvarez’s impressive stint at Manchester City, where he scored 36 goals in 103 appearances and won multiple titles, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League, has earned him a significant move.
The transfer represents a substantial profit for Manchester City, who signed him from River Plate for £14m in January 2022.
The deal is subject to personal terms being finalized, but is expected to be completed shortly.
Alvarez’s move to Atletico Madrid may have implications for Chelsea’s transfer plans, as their pursuit of Samu Omorodion is contingent on Atletico securing a striker replacement.
Conor Gallagher remains a potential target for Atletico, with negotiations ongoing over a transfer fee similar to his valuation (£34m).
