Activist, Just Adetoun has spoken out about her decision not to blur the face of the young girl who appeared in a viral video alongside her mother, who was criticized for bringing her daughter to a sweeping job at 4 am

Adetoun revealed that she intentionally chose not to obscure the girl’s identity, believing that it would have prevented the wave of kindness and generosity that followed the video’s release.
In an interview with Timi Agbaje, Adetoun explained that by featuring the girl’s face, she was able to spark a reaction that ultimately led to the child receiving support, including a scholarship offer from philanthropist Tunde Onakoya.
Adetoun stated that she has no plans to remove the video from her social media page, emphasizing that it will remain online as a testament to the positive outcome that arose from the controversy.
She expressed: “If I had blurred that girl’s face, the reactions that came to that post wouldn’t have come, the people that donated to her wouldn’t have donated and I’m never going to delete that video off my page, it’s never coming down ever…”
