Oyo is hot! Lol. Just like Oyo APC is going through MAJOR crisis with big wings such as APC Gubernatiorial candidate in the last election, Bayo Adelabu, Asiwaju Rotimi Ajanaku, Hon. Shina Peller and many others threatening to leave the party over ‘no primary election’, while others complains are losing the ticket ‘unjustly’, it seems the ruling party in the state, PDP is also having a share of its crisis too.
According to sources in the know, Governor Seyi Makinde has dropped his Deputy, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan ahead of the 2023 general elections.
It was gathered that the Governor has picked Barrister Bayo Lawal as the replacement for Olaniyan.
Makinde and Olaniyan were jointly elected as governor and deputy governor on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during the 2019 general elections.
Lawal, who is yet to be announced officially, is the Chairman of Oyo State Housing Corporation.
Makinde is from Ibadan, the State capital, while Olaniyan and Lawal are from Oke-Ogun geo-political zone.
Sources say the governor is going to announce Lawal as his running mate any moment from now.
According to Olaniyan’s camp, no fewer than five political parties are calling the Dep. Governor to contest on their platforms.
