The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari has left London for Daura, Katsina State, where he will be buried according to Islamic rites

Vice President Kashim Shettima is leading a high-level federal government delegation accompanying the remains back to Nigeria. The delegation includes the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila; Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar; and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Senator Ibrahim Hadejia.
Buhari passed away on Sunday, July 13, at a London clinic at the age of 82, following a brief illness. His death was officially announced by President Bola Tinubu, who also declared a seven-day national mourning period and ordered flags to be flown at half-mast.
The late president is expected to be laid to rest today, Tuesday, July 15, at his residence in Daura, in accordance with Muslim burial traditions.
