A fire broke out at the old terminal of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Monday, causing alarm among passengers and airport staff
The blaze affected a section of the terminal currently undergoing a multi-billion-naira renovation. Thick smoke was seen billowing from the building as emergency responders rushed to contain the fire.

The cause of the incident is still unknown, and authorities have yet to release details on the extent of the damage or report any casualties.
Airport operations near the affected area were temporarily disrupted while firefighters worked to control the flames. Security personnel cordoned off parts of the terminal to ensure safety for staff and travelers.
Eyewitnesses said the fire spread quickly before being brought under control, prompting the evacuation of several workers from the renovation site.
Airport sources confirmed that investigations have begun to determine what caused the fire and to evaluate its impact on the ongoing reconstruction project.
