Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party, ending the long-running political partnership that launched his rise from senator to state governor
Adeleke announced his exit in a late-night post on his X handle, where he also shared a resignation letter dated November 4 and addressed to the PDP Ward 2 chairman in Sagba Abogunde, Ede North.

He linked his departure to the leadership turmoil currently rocking the party, writing that the crisis at the national level left him with no choice but to step away with immediate effect.
He acknowledged the party’s role in his political journey, noting that it was under the PDP he served as Osun West senator between 2017 and 2019 and later became governor.
The resignation letter, already acknowledged at the ward level, did not reveal Adeleke’s next political destination, leaving speculation open on where he plans to pitch his tent next.
