The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, who allegedly paraded himself as the Director-General of the fake Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), in Osun State, hours after a Federal High Court in Abuja issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
Adeyemi was apprehended after failing to appear before Justice Mohammed Umar on Tuesday for his arraignment over an eight-count charge involving alleged forgery, fraud and impersonation.

Earlier, the court granted the prosecution’s request for a bench warrant after Adeyemi failed to appear when the case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, was called.
The charges, filed on November 27, 2025, by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, accused Adeyemi and two others of forgery, fraud and impersonation linked to the activities of the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
The prosecution is expected to call several witnesses during the trial, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, Paul Emmanuel, Jeremiah Imoukhede and Ituah Sylvester. Officials from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Akimbo Shola and Adamu Balongu, as well as a Deputy Superintendent of Police, are also listed among the witnesses.
