The Senate has approved 64 nominees for both career and non-career ambassadorial positions following a review of a report from its Committee on Foreign Affairs
The committee’s findings were presented by Chairman Senator Sani Bello, and lawmakers adopted the recommendations without objection.

During the proceedings, Senator Sahabi Yau raised concerns that no nominee from Zamfara State was included in the list. He urged the Senate to formally notify the President of the omission.
In response, the Senate President acknowledged the point, clarifying that the current list was not exhaustive. He assured senators that the President would be informed and that additional ambassadorial appointments are expected, with Zamfara State to be represented in the forthcoming selections.
