Justin Bieber tests new music ahead of Coachella headlining set

Justin Bieber is warming up for a big return to Coachella, and he’s doing it in a pretty low-key way. Over the weekend, he surprised fans with an intimate performance at the Troubadour in West Hollywood.

This marks his second small L.A. show in recent weeks. Just days earlier, on March 29, he also popped up for a secret set at the Roxy both performances seemingly building momentum ahead of his upcoming headlining slots at the Indio, California festival.

Interestingly, Bieber hasn’t been leaning on his biggest hits during these shows. According to Setlist FM, he’s been focusing more on tracks from his newer projects, “SWAG” and “SWAG II.” That choice has fans speculating that his Coachella performances on April 11 and April 18 might follow the same vibe.

Clips from the recent shows show him performing songs like “YUKON,” “GO BABY,” and “DAISIES,” among others from the two-part release.

Whether he’ll bring out his classic chart-toppers for the desert crowd is still up in the air. A few years ago, Bieber sold his entire music catalog to Hipgnosis, which now owns all six of his studio albums released between 2010 and 2021 a move that could also influence what fans hear on stage.
