Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has announced the opening of two million bank accounts for poor individuals in the state, emphasising his administration’s commitment to a “pro-poor, people-centred” governance approach
The governor made this statement on Thursday at the distribution of food items and palliatives for Christmas and New Year.
The event was organised at the Umaru Yar’adua Conference Centre, Kaduna, and spearheaded by Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

“Through our financial inclusion programme, we have opened over two million bank accounts for poor, vulnerable, and underserved persons to enable them to benefit from state and Federal Government social intervention programmes,” the governor stated.
Sani also highlighted previous initiatives by his administration, including the distribution of palliatives, agricultural inputs, grants, and soft loans to farmers and small-scale enterprises.
