A 25-year-old man, Mansur Umar, has been arrested for allegedly k!lling his sister’s boyfriend during a violent altercation in Kunya Village, Minjibir Local Government Area of the state
The tragic incident, which occurred on Friday, at about 9:30 pm, led to the d8ath of Sulaiman Musa, also 25, from Goda Village in the same local government.
According to a statement on Monday by the Kano State Police Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the victim had visited his girlfriend, Fiddausi Umar, at her residence when he was allegedly attacked by her brother, Mansur. The suspect reportedly struck Sulaiman on the head with a stick, inflicting serious injuries.
“The victim was rushed to the Kunya Cottage Hospital and later referred to the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital in Kano, where he d!ed at about 12:50 am on Saturday,” Kiyawa said.
According to Punch Mero, the suspect is currently in custody, and the case is being handled by the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department.
