Yesterday, Thursday, July 24, Kano witnesses a mass defection of the All Progressives Congress (APC), members to the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP)
The APC members were welcomed into the party by former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
He took to his X page on Friday to disclose the defection.
He revealed that the mass defection took place on Thursday and involved thousands of residents from across Kano State who pledged allegiance to the NNPP.
He wrote; “Yesterday was a momentous occasion, as I received thousands of defectors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) into the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).”
According to him, the leadership style in Kano State has continued to attract opposition party members into the NNPP.
“Speaking during the event at my residence in Kano, I welcomed the new members into our party and I promised them equitable treatment and cooperation.
“The distinguished leadership style in Kano and our political leadership keep attracting more people into our fold, and I encourage those considering joining to do so without any hesitation”, he wrote.
