Kenny ‘Keke’ Ogungbe has shared the fascinating story of how he first collaborated with the late music producer and artist, OJB Jezreel

In a podcast appearance, Kenny Ogungbe recounted how he initially discovered OJB Jezreel’s exceptional talent.
According to Ogungbe, it all began when he heard a diss song produced by OJB Jezreel, which caught his attention due to its impressive beat.
Determined to uncover the identity of the producer, Ogungbe used a clever trick to reveal OJB Jezreel’s name, which had been intentionally hidden.
Intrigued by OJB Jezreel’s skills, Ogungbe reached out to him and proposed a collaboration with a new artist. This chance encounter ultimately led to the creation of the iconic hit song “African Queen.”.
He said:
“There was a record that dissed me and the person who produced the record was OJB Jezreel,” he explained. “The record dissed me and the beat was fantastic.
“I went to Cool FM and Chris Obosi said this record dissed you and I looked at it and checked who produced it but they used a black object to cover the producer’s name, apparently he doesn’t want to be known for that project. I put the stuff to the light and I saw it, produced by OJB Jezreel.
“I got home, got his number and called him. I told him I had a new artist that I wanted him to work with and that was how we created African Queen.”
