Khaid shares how Olamide helped him

Nigerian singer Khaid has opened up about the significant role rapper and music executive Olamide played in his life and career.

He revealed that the YBNL boss paid his house rent for two years.

The 21-year-old artist, whose real name is Sulaimon Shekoni Solomon, spoke warmly about Olamide while reflecting on the support he received during his early years in the music industry.

Describing the veteran rapper as a father figure, Khaid said Olamide stood by him at a time when he needed guidance and stability.

According to the singer, one of the most memorable gestures from Olamide was covering the rent for his apartment for two years, a move he said made a huge difference in his life.

He stated:

“Olamide is my dad. He paid 2 years rent for the apartment I live in right now.”

Olamide is widely respected for his contribution to the growth of Nigerian music and for helping young artists build successful careers.

Through YBNL Nation, he has introduced and mentored several talents who have gone on to become major names in the industry, including Asake.

Khaid, who is signed to Neville Records, rose from humble beginnings in Lagos before breaking into the mainstream with songs such as “Jolie” and “Annabella.” Since emerging on the Afrobeats scene, he has continued to establish himself as one of the country’s promising young artists.
