Tension as Facebook page of the late Venerable Edwin Achi was taken over by his abductors, who posted photos of his wife and daughter still in captivity
The Anglican cleric was kidnapped along with his family on October 28 from their Kaduna residence.
Sadly, after nearly a month in the kidnappers’ den, he was murdered, even though relatives had reportedly paid the ransom demanded..
His family was later told where to recover his decomposing remains.
In a chilling new development, unfamiliar posts featuring his wife and daughter appeared on his Facebook timeline—an action believed to be carried out by the kidnappers themselves.
The update has thrown many Nigerians into panic, with fears mounting over the safety of the surviving victims and frustration growing over the lack of progress in securing their release.
So far, security agencies have issued no formal statement on rescue efforts.
Social media users have expressed shock and heartbreak.
One wrote: “This is devastating. May God protect his wife and daughter.”
Another lamented: “How can kidnappers boldly use his Facebook account? This level of evil is frightening.”
The disturbing posts have raised fresh calls for immediate action, as many continue to pray and hope for the safe return of Venerable Achi’s wife and daughter.
