Reports indicate that residents in Ajaokuta, Adavi, Okene, Lokoja, and Okehi Local Government Areas have been participating in the recall drive. In Ihima, Akpoti-Uduaghan’s hometown, people were seen queuing to sign the petition.

Abdullahi Usman, a resident of Ihima, stated, “You can see the queue of people dissatisfied with her National Assembly performance, especially following the recent scandal in the Senate chamber.” Similarly, Hajia Rabi Mohammed in Ajaokuta said, “We want her to return home, so we can elect someone with a good reputation.”

According to Mr. Samuel Adamu from Lokoja, the recall process began on Wednesday and is expected to conclude by Friday, March 21, with collected signatures used to file a formal petition.

However, PDP chieftain Abdulrahman Badamasiuyi dismissed the recall as a “sham,” urging constituents to ignore the exercise. He maintained that Akpoti-Uduaghan’s mandate remains intact despite her recent suspension from the Senate.

“We want the Senate, Nigerians, and the world to know we stand firmly with Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. She remains the one in whom we entrusted our mandate,” Badamasiuyi declared.
