Korra Obidi breaks down over social media harassment

Nigerian dancer and media personality Korra Obidi broke down in tears during a recent live broadcast, alleging that she has endured years of online ha.rassment and deliberate attempts to sabotage her career following her divorce.

Visibly emotional, Korra said she has spent the past five years dealing with people whom she accused of repeatedly reporting her social media accounts, interfering with business opportunities and contacting organisations she works with.

During a  YouTube livestream,  she said;

“I’m not the first person to get divorced. I’m not gonna be the last person. Why are you guys still reporting my page and just sabotaging all my opportunities? What did I do?” she asked while crying.

According to Korra, the alleged campaign has affected opportunities in several countries. She claimed that people contacted a hotel she stayed at in Antigua after she tagged the establishment online, allegedly forcing the hotel to ask her to remove the tag.

She also alleged that similar incidents occurred in Japan and during a television opportunity, claiming that individuals sent messages questioning why a programme would feature her and making accusations about her.

Korra further claimed that the alleged harassment extends beyond her professional opportunities, saying attempts have been made to interfere with her relationships and personal connections.

The entertainer said the situation has also affected her social media presence. She alleged that her Facebook and Instagram accounts have repeatedly been reported, making it difficult for her content to reach her large audience.

“I have 14 million followers. Why am I seeing three people watching?” she said, describing her experience while attempting to go live on Facebook.

Korra expressed frustration over what she described as a relentless campaign against her, saying some businesses may believe allegations made against her without independently verifying them.

“This is worse than obsession. I’ve never seen this in my life,” she said.

Korra and her former husband have been divorced for about five years. However, based on her latest statements, she believes the fallout from the marriage continues to affect her personal life, social media presence and professional opportunities.
