The Kwara pastor of Irepodun ECWA church has given a new update on the abduction of his wife and other worshippers which occurred on On April 29, 2026.
Revealing that the case remains unresolved months after the initial attack and ransom payment.
ECWA Pastor Sunday Omole says he is still trapped in emotional distress as the abductors continue to demand more money despite earlier compliance with their conditions.
He recalled the earlier stage of the incident, when the kidnappers first set their demands and he made frantic efforts to meet them in hopes of securing the release of the victims.
“I gathered N20million ransom together with five bags of rice, four kegs of 30 litres petrol, one keg of red oil, one packet of Maggi and N40,000 worth of hard dr*gs which they demanded and I gave them. I heard my wife’s voice that day and she was happy her ransom was paid”
However, according to him, the situation took a darker turn after the payment was delivered. Instead of freeing the captives, the abductors escalated their demands and maintained constant pressure.
“Despite this, they refused to release her to me and I never heard her voice again. They told me to bring N300million. They keep calling me everyday to ask how much I have raised. Right now 1 am devastated. I have relocated from the community and I never stepped my foot in the church again. I am calling on the government to help us track them”.
The pastor says he has since been forced to leave his community and has not returned to his church, as the threats and repeated calls from the kidnappers continue.
He is now appealing for urgent intervention from authorities, saying the ongoing situation has left him emotionally shattered and uncertain about the fate of his wife and the other victims.
