NUT Chairman Yusuf Agboola in a circular stated that schools in Isin, Irepodun, Ifelodun, and Ekiti LGAs would remain closed until further notice.

Agboola noted that the union was implementing the directive on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development in response to renewed security threats in Kwara South.

“Comrade chairmen, this is to inform you and, through you, all schools in the above local governments to close immediately until further notice. This action is due to the security challenges affecting the area and the government’s efforts to manage the situation. Please treat this information with the urgency it deserves, as it comes directly from the ministry,” the circular read.

He assured school administrators and teachers that additional instructions would be issued as the situation develops.
