Contrary to earlier reports, the traditional ruler of Bayangan community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Oba Ojibara of Bayangan, is still in the custody of armed bandits.
Oba Ojibara was abducted on Saturday around 9:30 a.m., along with 12 others. Security sources who spoke to Daily Post in Ilorin on Tuesday confirmed that the DSS and police authorities have no involvement in the case.

As of December 2, 2025, information from the bandits’ hideouts indicates that 13 people—including the monarch and three women—remain in captivity. The kidnappers have been operating across Bayangan, Ilala, Memudu, Adanla, Agbeku, and Idera over the past five days.
The abductees are reportedly seeking negotiations with the bandits, referencing the Eruku incident as a potential model for release. The kidnappers are demanding a ransom ranging between N100 million and N150 million per person.
