The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Labour Party has appointed Senator Usman Nenadi as Interim National Chairman and Senator Darlington Nwokocha as Interim National Secretary

The appointments were announced during the NEC meeting held on Friday in Abuja, where members unanimously agreed to establish an interim leadership structure ahead of a national convention.
The newly formed interim working committee will oversee the party’s affairs until fresh elections are conducted to appoint a new NEC.
As part of the meeting’s resolutions, the NEC approved a detailed timetable for congresses at all levels — from ward to local government, state, and zonal — leading up to the national convention.
The National Secretariat has also been instructed to publish comprehensive guidelines and timelines for the congresses to ensure a fair and transparent process.
