Lagos based content creator Ella is receiving praise both online and at work after speaking up about a challenge many commuters in the city deal with every day the shortage of buses on the Lagos Bus Rapid Transit network.
In a video she shared on social media, Ella talked about the daily struggle of trying to get a bus in Lagos.
She described how commuters often wait for long periods because there simply aren’t enough buses to serve the large number of people who rely on the system.
Her post quickly resonated with many Lagos residents who face the same experience during their daily commute. People began sharing their own stories about long queues, delays, and the stress of trying to get to work on time.
But the story didn’t end online.
Not long after the conversation gained momentum, Ella’s workplace decided to show their appreciation for her courage in speaking about the issue. In a video shared later, she was presented with a one-year transport allowance by her employer.
Those present during the moment explained that the gesture was meant to recognize her effort in drawing attention to a problem that affects thousands of commuters across Lagos every day.
For many people, Ella’s experience has become a reminder of how everyday voices can help spotlight real-life challenges faced by residents in the city.
