Lagos State Police have confirmed the d3ath of Mrs. Matilda Ngbaronye, the Divisional Police Officer of Festac Division and a Chief Superintendent of Police
The Command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, announced on Saturday that CSP Ngbaronye passed away on Friday following surgery at Mayriamville Medical Centre in Bode Thomas, Surulere, Lagos.
Adebisi described her passing as a significant loss, highlighting her reputation as a disciplined and upright officer who served with remarkable professionalism and integrity. She added that Ngbaronye was known for her diligence, devotion to duty, and compassionate approach, which greatly strengthened police–community relations.
“She was never found wanting in the discharge of her duties, and her death has deeply shocked the entire Command,” Adebisi said.
She noted that Commissioner of Police Mr. Olohumdare Jimoh, along with all officers and men of the Command, have extended their condolences to her family and elderly mother. CP Jimoh also personally reached out to Ngbaronye’s husband and her elder brother, a priest, to convey the Command’s sympathy and support.
Burial arrangements will be announced in due course, and prayers have been offered for her soul to rest in peace.
