
Lagosians today trooped out in their thousands to honour a
Pan Africanist, frontline lawyer and advocate of the masses, human rights
crusader, democrat, and a believer in true federalism late Mr. Alao
Aka-Bashorun, who was immortalized
today, January 7th, 2014. The
Lagos State Government unveiled a bust and dedicated a memorial park &
garden to his memory in his neighbourhood, Gbagada.

Aka-Bashorun, who was immortalized
today, January 7th, 2014. The
Lagos State Government unveiled a bust and dedicated a memorial park &
garden to his memory in his neighbourhood, Gbagada.
The ceremony witnessed a large turnout of who is who in
Lagos State, led by Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), his deputy Princess
Adejoke Orelope Adefulire and members of the state executive council comprising
Commissioners and Special Advisers, White cap chiefs, members of the Bar to which
late Mr. Aka-Bashorun belonged, civil right activists, his family members, security
personnel and other well-wishers.
Lagos State, led by Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), his deputy Princess

Commissioners and Special Advisers, White cap chiefs, members of the Bar to which
late Mr. Aka-Bashorun belonged, civil right activists, his family members, security

Some of the notable faces that were present are, Comrades Segun
Aka-Bashorun, Richarf Akinnola, Kayode Opeifa, Lagos State commissioner for
transportation, Malachy Ugwummadu, Bamidele Aturu, Ajayi Popoola, Chief Onovo,
Oloye Adeniji, Shina Loremikan, Nelson Ekujumi, Razak Olokooba, Achike Achude,
Nike Ransome Kuti, Rasheed Raji, Mohammed Fawehinmi, Alhaja Ganiat Fawehinmi,
Leke Oyebanji, Baba Pastor of CD, Jubril Ogundimu, Major Debo Bashorun, Ayo
Opadokun, Mrs. Beko Ransome Kuti, Mrs. Ajayi Popoola, Funmi Ajayi, to mention
but a few. It was indeed a joyous moment as everyone relished in the honour
done to the memory of a first social crusader Mr. Alao Aka-Bashorun by the
Lagos state government which is commendable.
