A disturbing video has surfaced showing thugs verbally harassing market traders on Lagos Island, ahead of planned nationwide protests against poor governance starting August 1
The video, which has gone viral, depicts the thugs threatening traders with severe consequences if they participate in the protests.
One of the individuals in the video is heard issuing a stern warning, “Nigerians, you’re not the only ones struggling. Don’t come out to protest on August 1st, or face the consequences.”
This intimidation tactic comes as various groups, including government officials, religious leaders, and civil society organizations, urge protesters to cancel the demonstrations.
The video has raised concerns about the safety of protesters and the potential for violence.
