Nigerian actress Laide Bakare is asking for help to regain custody of her two children, saying she fears for their safety while they are living with their father and his wife.
According to her, her ex-husband has had custody of the children for a long time after he claimed she did not have the capacity to care for them.
She said the children had previously told her about alleged abuse from their stepmother and her children, but she did not take the reports seriously because, according to her, their father would not allow her to have custody of them.
She said things took a more worrying turn last week while she was out of the country.
According to Laide, she received a call from one of her sons and overheard his stepmother allegedly instructing one of her sons on how to strangle the child.
The actress said she has a voice recording which she described as evidence and is now appealing for help to get her children back.
In a post she shared on her page, she said:
“Nigerians help me rescue my children from my babies father and his wife before they kpai them
“My Ex husband took custody of my two children, he said l don’t have capacity to take care of them and they have been living with him and his wife for a long time.
“My children always informè me how their step mother and her children normally abuse them but l just ignore because their father wouldn’t allow me have them.
“Last week that l travelled out of the country and l just received a call from one of my son and l ovrrerheard their step mother instructing one of her own son on how to st.rangle my child.
“I have the evidence of her voice recording with me, all l want now is my children, l want to have custody of my two children, please help me”.
