Tragedy has struck for 17-year-old Barcelona player Lamine Yamal, as his father, Mounir Nasraoui, has been seriously injured in a stabbing incident in Mataro, a town north of Barcelona
According to reports from La Vanguardia and Marca, Nasraoui’s condition is dire, and he has been transferred to the Can Ruti hospital in Badalona for treatment.
The Catalan police are currently investigating the incident.
This devastating news comes as Barcelona prepares for their opening match of the 2024-25 La Liga season against Valencia on Saturday, a game that would have otherwise been a focus for Yamal.
However, the young player’s attention is now rightfully with his family during this difficult time
