The Anambra state House of Assembly on Tuesday asked the
state Governor, Willie Obiano, to immortalise a former Minister of Information
and Communication, Prof. Dora Akunyili who once also headed NAFDAC.

The motion to immortalise Akunyili was moved by the member
representing Orumba-South constituency, Nikky Ugochuikwu, who is also the
Chairman, House Committee on Women Affairs and Social Development.

Ugochukwu explained that immortalisation of Prof. Akunyili
would spur other citizens of the state to be fully committed in the pursuit of
excellence in their various areas of endeavour. Akunyili died of cancer in an Indian
hospital on June 7, 2014.
