His remarks come amid the wave of mixed reactions trailing the d3ath of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away on Sunday in a London clinic after reportedly battling leukemia.

While Buhari’s allies have been paying glowing tributes, many Nigerians have taken to social media to express criticism and anger over his leadership, accusing him of misgovernance and neglect.

Former senator Shehu Sani had earlier urged the public to forgive Buhari’s imperfections, writing: “A living man is still on trial and cannot judge the dead. Let the sleeping soul rest.”

However, in a post shared via Instagram on Monday night, Abdulkareem countered that sympathy must be earned through compassion while alive.

“If you want sympathy in death, then you must show empathy when alive,” the rapper wrote.
“Your legacies after life are consequences of your deeds. Innalilahi wa innalilahi raji’un.”
