Sophia Momodu, has voiced her frustration over the relentless online scrutiny of her daughter, Imade whom she shares with singer Davido
Her response came after a social media user questioned why Imade did not join her father in celebrating his recent birthday.
The critic asked, “Sophia, why don’t you allow your daughter to celebrate with her dad?” Sophia’s reply was firm and unwavering:
“You people have been pushing this false narrative for over 10 years now. While I try to be graceful, I am also a fiercely protective mother. Say whatever you want about me, it’s fine. But LEAVE MY CHILD ALONE! This needs to stop. Imade is not a bargaining chip to make me conform!”
Sophia also reacted to a video circulating online that suggested Imade “always looks sad” and suffers emotional pain from her mother. She said, “My child is an innocent 10-year-old, a pre-teen! She hasn’t even started figuring things out yet. She’s literally still a baby.”
She made it clear that she will no longer tolerate anyone maligning her daughter:
“Moving forward, anyone — bloggers or otherwise — who brings my daughter’s name up negatively will hear from her lawyers. I have completely removed myself from the equation. My daughter will thrive in peace. However, I WILL FOREVER STAND UP FOR MY CHILD, even if nobody else does!”
Sophia concluded with a sharp warning to online critics:
“I honestly cannot wait to use one of you as a scapegoat. Let’s finish 2025 in grand style since some people don’t have any sense and keep attacking an innocent 10-year-old. Imade is not a tool for engagement or to manipulate me. Move on!”
