Leeds United and Burnley have both sealed their return to the Premier League for the 2025–26 season following a dramatic weekend in the Championship

Leeds confirmed their promotion with an emphatic 6–0 win over Stoke City at Elland Road. Dutch striker Joël Piroe was the star of the night, scoring four goals in a record-breaking performance. Under the leadership of manager Daniel Farke, Leeds set new club records for most points (94) and most goals (89) in a single season. This marks Farke’s third promotion to the Premier League, having previously taken Norwich City up twice.
Burnley followed suit later that evening with a 2–1 victory over third-placed Sheffield United at Turf Moor. Captain Josh Brownhill scored both goals for the Clarets, securing promotion and putting the automatic spots out of reach for their opponents. Managed by Scott Parker, Burnley are on a remarkable 31-game unbeaten run and boast the best defensive record in the league, conceding just 15 goals in 44 games. This is also Parker’s third time guiding a team to the top flight, following successful spells with Fulham and Bournemouth.
With both clubs tied on 94 points and two matches remaining, the battle for the Championship title is still alive. Meanwhile, Sheffield United, now out of the race for automatic promotion, will head into the playoffs alongside Sunderland and other hopefuls.
