The funeral of late British singer Liam Payne, who tragically passed away nearly a month ago, is scheduled for this week.
The former One Direction member, aged 31, died on October 16 after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The service is expected to be a private ceremony honoring the father-of-one, following numerous fan vigils held worldwide.
Liam’s body is set to be flown back to the UK by November 4.
After receiving necessary permissions, his father Geoff Payne was able to transfer Liam’s body from a Buenos Aires morgue to the historic British Cemetery in the city’s northern area.
According to Argentina’s La Nacion newspaper, Geoff was informed by prosecution chief Andres Madrea that he could bring his son’s body back to the UK two weeks after arriving in Argentina.
The paper reported: “All the documents are ready for the former One Direction singer to return to his homeland so a funeral can take place there next week. When Geoff Payne reached Argentina on October 18, he was told the repatriation process could take between four and five days, but because of the circumstances surrounding his son’s death, things took longer than expected.”
