Nigeria’s Super Eagles cited safety concerns after a 13-hour airport delay due to a sudden flight diversion.

In a statement, the LFF accused the Nigerian Football Federation of non-cooperation in match organization and vowed to take legal action to defend Libya’s national team interests.

“The LFF condemns Nigeria’s refusal to play and will take necessary measures to protect our team’s rights,” the statement read.

The LFF highlighted the Nigerian team’s withdrawal as unjustified, citing similar challenges faced by Libya in the first leg match. The federation apologized to Libyan fans for the confusion caused by Nigeria’s actions.
