Jota, who was just 28, d!ed alongside his brother, André Silva, in a fatal crash in Zamora, Spain. The heartbreaking loss sent shockwaves through the football world, and Liverpool’s gesture has been widely praised as an extraordinary act of compassion and respect.

The club will honor the remainder of Jota’s contract, which was set to run until 2027, with an estimated value of £14.5 million. This ensures that his wife, Rute, and their three children will be financially supported despite the devastating loss.

In addition to the financial support, Liverpool has paid tribute to Jota by retiring his iconic number 20 jersey, a number he wore during a remarkable stint at the club, which included helping secure Liverpool’s 20th league title.
