British-Nigerian designer, Liz Sanya has successfully created the largest sandal in the world, earning her a spot in the Guinness World Records
The monumental achievement, which took place at Pixel Park in Lekki, Lagos, between January 2 and 4, 2025, drew a large crowd of supporters who gathered to witness the historic attempt.
The talented designer’s fans and friends were overjoyed by her achievement, praising her dedication and creative genius.
Sanya’s achievement is part of a larger trend of Nigerian individuals pushing the boundaries of human potential and achieving greatness.
Other notable record-breakers include celebrity chef Hilda Baci, who cooked for the longest marathon time by an individual in May 2023; Helen Williams, a talented wig maker who created the longest handmade wig and most hair clips in a wig in just 30 seconds; Chancellor Ahaghotu, an art student who painted for 100 consecutive hours to break a decade-old record in January 2024; and chess master Tunde Onakoya, who played an unbeaten game for over 58 hours at Times Square in New York City in April 2024.
