Nancy Isime has never been one to shy away from difficult conversations, and her latest comments on parenthood offered a candid look into how she views having children.
The actress and media personality recently shared her views on having children, admitting that the realities of life sometimes make her wonder whether bringing children into the world is the right thing to do.
For Isime, the conversation isn’t about disliking children. In fact, she says the opposite is true. Her concern comes from seeing the struggles that many people face every day and questioning whether anyone would willingly sign a child up for that experience.
“You know the craziest thing about loving children? I feel like if you really love children, you wouldn’t want to bring them into the world,” she said.
She went on to describe life as far from easy, pointing to the pressures, disappointments and hardships that come with simply trying to get by.
“Are you not suffering today? Have you not seen shege today? Is earth not ghetto? Are you not going through a lot? Don’t you wish some days that you were not born?” she asked.
Still, despite her reservations, Isime doesn’t believe suffering is something anyone can completely avoid.
Asked whether her outlook means she plans to stay child-free, she stated that life’s challenges are a shared human experience.
“No, everybody has to suffer. They will come and suffer their own. They’re not going to escape it,” she said.
