The Nigeria Police Force has arrested the man who assaulted a police officer at Chevron Roundabout, Lekki, on June 22

Inspector-General of Police Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun condemned the attack.
The assailant, 47-year-old Oluwaseun Jacobs, a cobbler from Ajah, was apprehended and arraigned on a three-count charge, including assault occasioning bodily harm and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.
Jacobs has been remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending further legal proceedings, with the case adjourned until July 8.
Egbetokun assured officers that their rights would be protected and that such attacks would not be tolerated.
“The safety of our officers is paramount and goes hand in hand with the fundamental rights of citizens. We will ensure that anyone responsible for such assaults faces the full wrath of the law,” he stated.
