Manchester City extended their unbeaten Premier League home streak to 35 games with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Southampton at the Etihad Stadium

Erling Haaland struck again, scoring his 14th goal of the season just five minutes into the match.
The Norwegian’s early strike proved to be the difference-maker in a tame contest against the winless Saints. City dominated possession and created numerous chances, but failed to find top gear despite Haaland’s best efforts.
Southampton’s best opportunity came when Cameron Archer hit the bar late in the first half, but Pep Guardiola’s side remained in control. The visitors showed defensive resilience, but City’s victory never seemed in doubt.
The win returned City to the top of the table, and they now have a break from home games until Tottenham visits on November 23.
Haaland’s goal ensured City maintained their impressive home record, with their last league defeat at the Etihad dating back to November 9, 2022, against Brentford.
City’s victory was marred by some contentious decisions, including a yellow card for Flynn Downes and Russell Martin, but ultimately, Haaland’s early strike proved decisive.
