A 38-year old gatekeeper, Sali Malu, has been arraigned
before an Abule Egba Magistrate court for raping another gatekeeper at his
residence. The suspect who was accused of lacing his victim’s food with
drugs pleaded not guilty to a two count charge of s*xual assault and causing a
breach of peace.

“When the complainant
woke up, his anus was paining him and there was some left-over semen in it. The
complainant, who is also a gatekeeper in the estate they watched over, went to the room of the
accused to charge his phone. The accused gave him food to eat. The man did not
know that the food had been laced with drugs. After eating the food, he slept
off only to wake up to the reality that he had been ra*ed,’’ the prosecutor told the court.

The offences, contravene Section 166 (d) and 259 of the
Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. The Magistrate granted him a bail of N500, 000 with two
sureties in like sum, while the case was adjourned to May 5 for mention.
