Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes marked his 250th appearance for the club in style, scoring two brilliant goals in their Premier League match against Leicester at Old Trafford on Sunday, November 10, 2024
Fernandes was honored with a framed shirt before kickoff, and he didn’t take long to make an impact. In the 17th minute, he received a clever back-heel from Amad Diallo and curled a low shot past Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.
The Portugal international added his second goal in the 38th minute with a deflected effort off Victor Kristiansen. Both goals sparked ecstatic celebrations from the home fans, who chanted his name as Fernandes was congratulated by his teammates.
Fernandes has now scored 84 goals in all competitions since joining United from Sporting Lisbon in 2020. His impressive performance came in Manchester United’s final game before new head coach Ruben Amorim takes charge on Monday.
Interim head coach Ruud van Nistelrooy aimed to extend his unbeaten run, having won two and drawn one of his three previous games since taking over after Erik ten Hag’s departure last month.
