Manchester United has terminated Erik Ten Hag’s contract as manager, effective immediately
The Dutchman’s departure follows a prolonged period of poor performances.
Ten Hag, 54, had been at the helm for two and a half years.
However, the team’s recent struggles, including a 2-1 defeat to West Ham, proved to be the final straw.
Manchester United currently sits 14th in the Premier League, with a dismal record of just one win in their last eight matches across all competitions.
The club released an official statement, thanking Ten Hag for his service: “We appreciate Erik’s contributions during his time here and wish him well for the future.”
Ruud van Nistelrooy, Ten Hag’s former assistant, assumes interim head coach responsibilities while the club searches for a permanent replacement.
