Toke Makinwa has advised women to choose a partner who prioritises love, understanding and the relationship over pride
The media personality shared a message encouraging women to pay close attention to how a man responds after an argument, saying those moments reveal the kind of partner he truly is.
She wrote:
“Marry the man who calls you after an argument just to make sure you’re okay. Not the one who leaves you alone with your tears. Choose the man who stays when things get hard and wants to understand you, not defeat you. A man who can pause, hold you, and say ‘I’m sorry’ because your relationship matters more to him than his ego.
”There is also great strength in humility. A person who can stop, hold your hand, and sincerely say, “I’m sorry,” understands that protecting the relationship is far more important than protecting their ego.
”At the end of the day, lasting love isn’t measured by how rarely you argue. It’s measured by how consistently you choose each other, especially after the hardest conversations.”
