Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard’s participation in the upcoming north London derby against Tottenham is uncertain due to an ankle injury sustained during Norway’s UEFA Nations League match against Austria
The 25-year-old midfielder was forced off the pitch after twisting his ankle and appeared to be in significant pain.
While the severity of the issue is yet to be confirmed, Norway’s national team doctor, Ola Sand, provided a cautiously optimistic update, stating that Odegaard is “doing quite well now” with a “small ankle sprain.”
However, the situation will be monitored closely over the next 24 hours to determine the next course of action.
This development adds to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s concerns, as he is already without Declan Rice, who is serving a one-match ban.
The north London derby against Tottenham is scheduled for this weekend, and Odegaard’s availability remains uncertain.
