The ongoing rift between Mayowa Lambe and her former husband, Roby Ekpo, has taken a legal turn following the controversy stirred by his appearance on The Honest Bunch Podcast
Through her lawyers, Mayowa has issued a formal cease-and-desist notice accusing Ekpo of spreading damaging falsehoods about her and their past relationship.

The letter makes it clear that whatever traditional marriage existed between them had already ended by mutual agreement of both families before May 11, 2025, stressing that there has been no marital tie since then.
Her legal representatives allege that despite this, Ekpo has continued to present misleading narratives in public, particularly during media appearances, where he made claims about infidelity, financial dependence, her character, and the status of their marriage.
According to the notice, these statements are entirely false and were deliberately pushed to gain public sympathy while tarnishing her image.
Mayowa maintains that Ekpo has turned private matters into public spectacle, repeatedly discussing their past in a way that has exposed her to online attacks, ridicule, and reputational damage. The document claims this pattern of behavior has encouraged harassment from social media users who relied on his version of events.
To counter his claims, Mayowa asserts she has substantial evidence, including records showing her financial contributions throughout the relationship, documented efforts to support Ekpo’s relocation abroad, and medical reports relating to their joint attempts to have a child. She also points to messages and third-party communications that allegedly contradict his public statements.
Her legal team describes Ekpo’s actions as malicious defamation that has caused emotional distress and harmed her reputation and goodwill.
As part of the demands outlined in the notice, Ekpo has been instructed to immediately stop making any further statements about her, delete all existing content deemed defamatory, issue a clear public retraction and apology on the same platforms, and pay ₦100 million in damages.

He has been given a three-day deadline to comply, failing which legal proceedings will be initiated, including claims for additional damages and possible criminal action.
The situation has further fueled public debate, with both sides presenting sharply opposing accounts of their past, turning what was once a private relationship into a widely discussed controversy.
